While visiting the Taj Mahal, you will most probably feel the need to savor the flavors of Mughal India. Here is a list of restaurants near the Taj Mahal that you could try out.

  • Tajmahal The Multi-Cuisine Restaurant : This hotel at Hotel Areeba, Fatehabad Road, has scrumptious food here that is tasty as well as filling, as the servings are rather a lot in quantity. The best dishes at this place are the Tandoori chicken, the Roasted Chicken, Seekh Kabab, Tangdi Kabab, Kadhai Paneer and Shahi Paneer. The other dishes available a the restaurant are also worth a try.

  • Quality Restaurant : Located near Kailash Cinema in Fatehabad, this place is most well known for its Butter Chicken and Nan. The place quite understandably specializes in Moghlai Food. One common complaint though is the lack of alcohol.

  • Aashiyaana :This restaurant is in the Gateway Hotel. If going here, do not skip the Rajasthani Thali, which offer a lot of small dishes on one platter. There are lot of options to choose from, the two primary cuisines being Indian and Chinese. You can relish your meal while enjoying live music and a dance performance. The bar here also offers a wide range of drinks.

  • Joney's Place : If after viewing the Taj Mahal, you suddenly find yourself standing next to a small funky hippie-ish joint, you probably have reached Joney's Place. It is another another one of the restaurants near the Taj Mahal. Joney's Place is nothing like any other eatery in all of Agra. It offers a wide range of dishes, even varying to Korean Ramen and Italian Pasta.If visiting do try the Banana Lassi However, be warned. When we called this place small, we meant it. Its tiny. None the less, its very popular, with a lot of travelers stopping from time to time.

  • Peshawri : This place is the meat-eater's delight, though the vegetarian dishes are amazing too. Specialities here include the grilled leg of lamb, the char-grilled pomfret, the Sikandar Ran,Peshawri Kababs and Tandoori Chicken. If you are a vegetarian, though you could try try the Kadak Paneer Kabab or the Dal Bukhara. All the Indian breads that is the nans are simply out of the world. We suggest a bottle of Indian wine along.

  • Pinch of Spice : This restaurant is located near the ITC Mughal. This place is known for its fine deco and prompt service. The indian cuisine here is excellent though there are options of Chinese and Continetal dishes too. Try the Chinese or the Continental food only if you are tired of eating Indian, or if you cant take too much spice. One drawback here though, is the lack of beer. Even the otherwise famous Lassi Of Agra is missing from its menu.
