Taj Mahal at Night

Probably the only thing that could make you believe that there is nothing as beautifully romantic as the Taj Mahal during the day would be viewing the Taj Mahal at night. The Taj Mahal was built by Shah Jahan, the Emperor Of India, in remembrance of his favorite wife Mumtaz Mahal. Perhaps there is no greater manifestation of love than this structure that Shah Jahan created.

The Taj Mahal at night has often been a muse for poets, writers and movie makers from around the world. The glimmer of the Taj Mahal in the moonlight is akin to being given a glimpse of heaven itself. To view the Taj Mahal at night makes one wonder whether even Shah Jahan would have ever imagined how beautiful the Taj Mahal would seem, even hundreds of years later. The faint silvery glow that the moon shines over the Taj Mahal confuses the viewer as to what is more romantic, the moon or the Taj. The Taj Mahal, especially on moon lit nights is definitely the closest man has come to creating a union between the heavens and the earth. Imagining a walk in the Taj Mahal complex during such a night would definitely be capable of making one feel Shah Jahan's pride at his creation.

Unfortunately, imagination is all that is left for those who wish to make such a walk through the complex. The night tours that were carried out at the Taj Mahal have now been discontinued by the authorities. This however is no reason to be sad. There is always a chance that the tours will be restarted, and even if they are not the splendor of the Taj Mahal is visible even from miles away. Of course, in such a situation, your imagination is the best option of being any closer to the Taj Mahal.
